The platform dependencies are taken care of in the Eclipse platform, not in
the plugins, so having an "install in an existing eclipse" would most likely
do it :)

I don't think this would fix it and I believe they can already install into
an existing instance of eclipse as of 7.0. Just because a plugin is created
to install into an existing install of eclipse doesn't mean that those
plugins wont have Windows hooks - know what I mean?
