I'm using it on a daily basis. You should use Help -> Software update to add the update site (WSDCi is Eclipse 3.2.2), and let it download and sort out the details itself.

Right click on the java project and do a fatjar build. Saving the settings give you a fatjar file which you can right-click and Fat-jar->Quick build to do it again. I use a target similar to "\\as400\home\me\foobar.jar".

Thanks, that worked like a charm! What a great product, I wasted hours figuring out how to unzip jars, and edit INF files before I found this product. Well, I guess it wasn't a complete waste, I do have some sort of understanding of how it works now. Nevertheless it's Fat Jar for me from now on!

Please be aware that the classloader used is a bit memory hungry, so if you have large JAR's or only little memory the traditional JAR method is better.

Even though the WSDCi does not support remote run/debug for Java to the AS/400, you can manually set up an AS400 launch description pointing towards the JAR file both for running and debugging. This works well (but starts VERY slowly).

After a long discussion pro and contra a while back, we decided against traditional jar's because having a single jar for a single deployment simplifies the record keeping immensely. Especially if you include a version number/release date whatever in the filename.

Have fun - it has made our life easier :)
