Don,
I have never used the Data Perspective so I don't know the benefits but
Quantum DB allows me to create a connection for each database that I
need to access, i.e. System i DB2, Oracle 9i (or is it 10i now), and MS
SQL. It will also allow me to drill down into the schema to discover a
table's columns, unfortunately this was broke at V5R3 on DB2 for me. It
can also export a result set so that I have a quick and dirty way to
provide an excel spreadsheet to someone without having to go through a
lot of hoops. I can execute basically any SQL I need to do, i.e. Select,
update, delete, etc.
It comes with basic but good help and is fairly easy to setup if you are
familiar with creating ODBC connections, and if not there are a number
of people on this message board that can help.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Data Perspective vs Quantum DB
Hey All,
I have just started delving into using the data perpsective of WDSCi 6.0
and had a couple of questions.
1. When running stored procedures how can I find out what QZDASOINIT job
its using. If I want to debug the RPGIV stored procedure its calling I
would need this normally.
2. What advantages are there in loading Quantum DB plugin over the
existing Data Perspective.
Thanks for any pointers
