Charles- Check the silent install that I created and posted to this
list. In my response file. I have defined which repositories to use,
and told it NOT to check service repositories.

The key line for the XML response file is:
<preference name='offering.service.repositories.areUsed' value='false' />

Does your response file include the IM proxy settings?

HTH,

Sarah

Chenghui,

Thanks for the info!

A couple of other questions,
1) Why didn't IM give up in a reasonable amount of time and just look at the
local repositories?
2) Can I uncheck the "Search service repositories during installation and
updates" checkbox somehow
during the installation of IM when using a response file for a silent install?

Thanks again!
Charles
