As discussed on this list last week and in the announcement found at
http://www-306.ibm.com/common/ssi/fcgi-bin/ssialias?infotype=an&subtype=ca&htmlfid=897/ENUS207-082&appname=isource,
free licenses to the new EGL tooling, IBM Rational Business Developer
Extension (RBDE), are available for order by WDSC V6 users. The announcement
states:
<snip>
To qualify for this entitlement, clients must be current on their
maintenance contract for the qualifying V6 product.
Clients holding licenses of WebSphere Development Studio Client for iSeries
V6 (standard edition) must submit their request no later than July 30, 2007.
If the product was not acquired through IBM Passport Advantage, clients are
required to specify the number of license entitlements being requested.
</snip>
My question is how many licenses should be ordered? Through 5722-WDS, we are
granted an unlimited number of licenses to WDSC although in reality we only
use a few. The RBDE product is priced at $1500 per seat so I'm thinking we
should order some multiple of the current number of licenses actually used
and cull it down to a more realistic number next year when the new Passport
Advantage maintenance charge comes due. Any thoughts?
Kind regards,
BJ
