I found the problem with this one in case someone else needs the answer.
Turns out that Project->Build Automatically was selected. Not sure how it
got selected (probably when I did something on the Java side), but
regardless it was causing my saves of iSeries members to take twice as long.
I am back to a single save now :-)

I have had this problem since I first used WDSC but only today did I get
frustrated with it enough to ask for a solution :-)

When I save a source member (i.e. RPG program) it appears to
upload/synchronize twice. I didn't think I could explain it well in words
so I did a quick video:
