Dave,

To be honest, I don't remember if I was in iSeries Projects or not when I
figured out that the verify
ran much, much faster when I was disconnected.

It is quite possible as I was working from home over a VPN connected and got
tired of the transfer
time for compiles.

Charles,

Well, that was an interesting experiment.

1) Open source from RSE.
2) Do a verify with refresh to make sure the cache is current.
3) Disconnect.
4) Set connection to Work Offline.
5) Attempt verify without refresh.

Result? It comes back very quickly, but it can't find any of
my external file definitions! Does verify while offline only
work if you use iSeries Projects, maybe? If so, I hope the
WDSCi team are working on fixing that, too. It works okay
(not perfectly, but okay) in CODE, and has for years, and I'd
like WDSCi to at least match what CODE can do.

Thanks anyway.

Dave,

Try running the verify disconnected from the iSeries.

I noticed a heck of a difference. Apparently, there's some
sort of validation that goes on with the
iSeries connected.

I never bothered to ask IBM if there was anyway to turn off
whatever was happening.

Charles
