There is no way IBM can consider asking for money for Screen Designer in
the state it is in right now.

Funny thing is...they already are ....

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] IBM Response
Hi Bruce,
... These are just my opinions, but unless someone can show me good
cause
to budge, I'm holding
the line....
Ordinarily, I would tend to agree! However, so far, I have found V7 to
be, overall, much quicker and more stable than V6. The
installation/upgrade processing is, apart from some issues outlined
here,
much better than before. Also, CODE is still compatible. So, if you're
not going to budge, I'd move to V7 and get sticky there! You could tell
IBM that you're very happy at V7 with CODE and have no intention of
moving
on from there unless a viable, cost-effective, development path is
provided.
I also wouldn't get too upset about missing out on the Screen Designer.
I've tried it out a few times and it doesn't work! At this stage I
would
need to be paid to beta test it - I don't have time to report all the
problems I have found with it - and, in any case it is not complete (the
Preview panel is not available for Screen Designer Technology Preview!).
There is no way IBM can consider asking for money for Screen Designer in
the state it is in right now.
