Here is my response to them (currently top blog entry or

Them regurgitating what they have already stated didn't help the matter at
all and really makes me feel like our opinions had little effect.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] IBM Response
This is what I got today
Hello Bill,
Thanks you for your patience.
I have attached the response to you concerns from the System i and WDSC
Rational Team below. Please let me know if you have further questions and or
you can send your questions and concerns to (wdscques@xxxxxxxxxx) as stated
in the response and copy me on them.
"Version 7.0 of the WDSc Standard edition development tools contains exactly
the same components as WDSc Standard edition V6.0 and V6.1.
Nothing has been withdrawn or removed. WDSc V7.0 includes the CODE Designer
tool as the vehicle for designing and maintaining green screens and printer
files. The CODE Designer has always provided many productivity advantages
for programmers who use it. It still continues to provide all of these
benefits. The V7.0 announcement did not include any statement about
withdrawal of the CODE product.
In the Version 7.0 release, the new WDSc Designer is included in the WDSc
Advanced Edition version. It is a technology preview only. As with every
Technology Preview that IBM releases, this does not necessarily represent
the final deliverable. The WDSc team within IBM Rational is still
determining how the feature will be delivered in its final form.
In fact, the current packaging strategy for the desktop tools is being
reviewed as we try to find the right solution for our marketplace at the
right price. If you have additional comments, please feel free to send them
to wdscques@xxxxxxxxxx
Your feedback on this announcement is appreciated and will certainly be
considered as we move forward."

It appears to be deliberately vague as to the future. It does not address
the Vista issue either. Sounds like a politician talking.
