Manuel, both the Install Manager and WDSC V7 can be installed to any
partition and your hard disk can have as many partitions as you like.

Are you installing from the CDs or from the downloaded files? If CD, is
it from IBM or you burned it with the downloaded files? Can you open a
Windows session (i.e., a DOS command window), switch to the CD1, and do a
DIR /s > file1, and send us file1?

Thanks.

[WDSCI-L] wdsc7 and local partitions

Thanks Eric and Kirk,
The partition D is not deeply nested neither use long names.
Kirk, did you install wdsc 7 or 6 ?
it might be because of the way the disk has been partitioned. I got C and
D.
Can the IBMers confirm that installation manager should work with two
partitions I got the feeling it does not as the error message comes
straight away. Error 1324 the path items to CD contains an invalid
character.

I got the wdsc7 complaint number 7796 by the way. A lady said Ibm will
send a formal response soon.
regards,
manuel
