What version of OS/400 are you on that OPTION(*EVENTF) is invalid? Or do you have a non-IBM version of the CRTDSPF command? That's where your real problem lies. I'm not sure why WDSCi is preventing you from dropping it, but since you'll get no feedback from the compile without it, I'd check why that doesn't work first.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] problem with CRTDSPF command in WDSC 7.0

I began using WDSC vers 6 a few months ago (on a limited basis, but I am
trying to work with it more), and have recently upgraded to version 7.0. I
have noticed the following problem in both versions and would like to know
if other users have encountered the problem and if so, what might be done
to fix it.

When attempting to compile a display file in WDSC using the CRTDSPF
command, a window is displayed (see attached screen shot) with the error
message
"*EVENTF is not valid for parameter OPTION". When I try to edit the
command to remove the OPTION keyword or I try to create a new command that
does not contain the OPTION keyword, WDSC changes the command back to the
default which includes the OPTION keyword.

I would appreciate any information anyone may have on this issue.
