In order to install V7 we should uninstall V6 first? This sounds like
trying to install a new versions of Windows, the upgrades never worked
and you had to wipe everything out and start from scratch. I am really
impressed with what I hear about V7 (sarcasm).

I have installed V7 over twenty times without a problem (except that it will
NOT install on a 64-bit Windows system), including an emergency install of
over a dozen laptops in about four hours using two sets of CDs.

I have installed with V6, without V6, and even in a VMWare virtual machine.
I have added additional components and upgraded to the latest fixpack, all
without issues.

Unlike prior versions, the base version of WDSC7 works out of the box and
works very well.

Someone suggested waiting for the first service pack to come out before
upgrading, that sounds like pretty good advice.

That was not good advice. Of course, the fixpack is already out so it's a
moot point; you can install WDSC7 and immediately apply the fixpack. Greg
said he had problems loading the fixpack during initial installation; I
can't speak to that issue since haven't tried that.
