I did the "verify connection" to determine if I have missing
ptf's. and I do have some. Are these ptf's I can download
and apply at my own workstation, or are these ptf's that are
normally applied by operations people?

You will need to check the PTF cover page to see if they can be applied
'immediate' or if they need an IPL to be applied. I'd suggest that you
give the list to the system admins, and find out your company's policy on
applying PTFs.
