Note that the guy I talked to admitted to not know the situation in-depth
and this became clear to both of us once I described what George stated in
his keynote at SystemiDeveloper.com conf which is: We DO still have screen
designer in standard edition by way of CODE's version of it. What we DON'T
have is the next generation of screen designer which currently only comes in
WDSC 7.0 AE. After saying this to the gentleman on the phone it was
resolved that George was simply going to send out a letter addressing the
complaints and he was unable to commit to the NEW screen designer being
included in WDSC 7.0 standard edition.

Obviously we will, hopefully, know for sure what the entire situation
entails once George's letter is sent out. The good thing is that George
came up through the ranks of being a developer (as I understand it), which
gives him a better handle of the frustration we are feeling.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Letters to Sam

I got an email response and then a phone call. I was assured that the
screen design would remain as party of the standard version and that a
letter was being drafted to all AS400 clients explaining this. One thing I
forgot to ask is would it be at an additional per seat cost.
The question about Rational and Vista or Code and Vista was glossed over.
Bottom line is we should all be getting a letter soon from IBM explaining
what is standard and what is not.
