Re: WDSC 7.0 Dead End

Alan,

This makes perfect sense to me. I have been following this 7.0 upgrade
process for about a week now. You went further than I did. I also created a
Passport Advantage account to try to get WDSC 7.0 as per a prior post. The
Passport Advantage documentation came this week and I went through the
entire tutorial on the CD. It makes me think I sold my companies soul to
sign up for it. On top of that, they put me in a commercial account rather
than Passport Advantage Express even though we only have 1 iSeries box and a
small model 810.

I figured I will just wait until some clear instructions come out. I did not
start WDSC until the last 2 months. I first put it on my work PC which is
only a 256Mb RAM Win 2K Pro box. (I did it against all advice posted). It
took up so many resources that I had to uninstall it - it even killed
performance when NOT running. I then did the ALL day install / update on my
personal laptop. This runs fine but I don't normally bring it in to work. I
was hoping 7.0 would run on my work PC.

6.0 came with our v5r4 upgrade. I am hoping someone posts the easy way to
get 7.0 when it is available.

Why can't we just go to an FTP site and download?

It is based on Eclipse and the product is perfectly useless unless you
have an AS/400 with development tools in which case it is free.

Does this make sense to anyone else?
