"IBM, Im sorry but this sucks!!!" I couldn't agree more. There is no way my shop will pay for this type of gouging. (Unless code designer has an option to translate the 5250 data stream into a browser friendly format... (which I doubt).) Maybe folks who are going to the next Common should develop a strategy to make this known at the Town Hall. Perhaps coordinate an 'event' where Trevor Perry asks the question about why they are doing this to us. And then have them ask the attendees who are upset with this decision to stand up and walk out. (I can't go to Common any more due to budget cuts. The bean counters would surely laugh at the added expense for WDSCi AE.) Maybe this is the final nail in the coffin IBM marketing has been looking for. The one thing that will force us to stay with green screen so that the platform can finally die. Sorry for the rant but this really peeves me. I have two programmers who won't use WDSCi because they use Code. Since last year, a WDSCi developer has been telling us that Code would be integrated into WDSCi, which is what my programmers have been asking for. And evidently they've been misleading us all along. It's getting harder and harder to be an evanglist when the truth turns out to be a bait and switch.
