Don't get a Thinkpad. Last time I was shopping around they were starting to
go wussy on the processor side of things (eliminating non-mobile processors
from the entire line, though that was about 1yr ago). For instance my
Thinkpad is a "Mobile Processor" which I have learned to equate to "We give
you more battery life and take away fast processing".

Last time I was looking around for a performant laptop I went to these two
vendors: Alienware and WidowPC

I'm not sure if this is the correct list to post to, but I know a lot
of WDSCi users monitor this list.

The wife wants to get a new Thinkpad. It should be light and travel
ready... but beefy enough to do WDSC (not the Lite version).

Any suggested models? I know 2gb of ram & 7200 rpm drive are the
basics, but regarding portability and travel ready, any preferences?
