Mark, Variables view will show variable for ILE COBOL and ILE RPG starting from V5R2. For ILE RPG, a known issue of Variables view is that the variables are not available in the subroutine of main procedure. I have never been able to figure out why they disappear and why sometimes they don't! Just like Michael said, you can use the "Monitors" tab to view your variables and the contents. One thing I found out a couple of weeks ago is that if you double-click a variable and do a copy, then right click in the "Monitors" pane and select "Monitor Expression" the window will come up with the variable already inserted and all you have to do is click "OK". IIRC, there's a message in the variables tab saying something like 'FOR RPG, COBOL, OR CL USE THE "MONITORS" VIEW.' I think it's about 4 tabs to the right of the VARIABLES tab. What am I doing wrong?
