Mark, If you go back through the archives you will see where a number of people have asked about this and you are not doing anything wrong. I have never been able to figure out why they disappear and why sometimes they don't! Just like Michael said, you can use the "Monitors" tab to view your variables and the contents. One thing I found out a couple of weeks ago is that if you double-click a variable and do a copy, then right click in the "Monitors" pane and select "Monitor Expression" the window will come up with the variable already inserted and all you have to do is click "OK".
