From: Joel Fritz What no charge licensed programs do I need to deploy webfacing apps on v5r3. I've looked at the IBM docs and am confused. I'm currently working on a massive project to webface a bunch of stuff. I have things running fine on my pc and need to take the next step.
Make sure you have WebSphere up and running on your machine. If you can get the basic WebSphere Application Server running, you should have no problem deploying your WebFaced application.
Also, what are my options for displaying system screens?
System screens are handled via the HATS transformation on-the-fly technology. The good news is that HATS and WebFacing functionality are bundled together as WDHT in the next release of WDSC. The bad news is that WDHT is a charged feature. So basically all WebFacing projects will automatically get support for system screens, but will no longer be free to run -- you will need a separate license for WDHT, which costs about $10,000 per processor core on a P10.
