Sorry...that was the wrong article link. Try this one instead. It's
about how to prevent access to the System Request Menu using API's but I
think you could adapt it for controlling access with Web Facing.

You could use the User Profile APIs to control what the user does after
he gets logged on. Probably. Maybe. Experiment.

Here's an article I wrote awhile back on how to use these:

We also had stumbled on this 'restriction'.
Although typical Webfacing users are of type *USER, they get unwanted
possibilities while using the green screen.
We had already received remarks from auditors that this has to be
solved.
But we would not know how....

Anyone suggestions??

Regards,
Eduard.

Be sure that the user-id that you're signing on with does not have
Limited Capabilities (LMTCPB(*YES)). A remarkably insecure restriction
which I believe still holds.

I am attempting to use the Web Facing tool for the first time. It
appears
I have converted a simple interactive report app successfully. When I
attempt to "Run on Server" within WDSC, it begins to execute correctly.
The first page (Launch Application) loads a Sign On screen. The Signon
page does all the edits correctly on the info entered. Once a valid
user
and password has been entered, the app just sits attempting to load the
next screen, not nothing happens. I'm a bit new to all this WDSC, web
apps and servers, etc. I'm using IBM's Redbook "The IBM Webfacing Tool"
as
a reference, but it appears there are some version differences. I'm
using
WDSC version 5.1. Any ideas?
Thanks, Tim
