To the WDSC development team,

First off, thanks for all your hard work - much appreciated that I don't
have to use SEU :-)

I came across a feature that I have in regular Eclipse and Java usage, and
that is the ability to right click on a source file and select 'Compare
With' -> 'Local History'. That brings up a screen showing the most recent
versions/changes of a source file. I would LOVE to have this feature in
WDSC for RPG source, even if it was totally implemented on the client side
(vs. on iSeries) for only my eyes to see.

I would assume that since the source is being cached on the client that
this
would be somewhat possible?

Anyways, I think a feature like that would be another excellent reason to
move away from SEU!

I think most of this is available for free from Eclipse. If you open the
Navigator view and find the file in the cache, I seem to recall that the
Eclipse Compare with and Replace with options are all there. It seems like
it should therefore be possible for IBM to make those available in the
editor.

I imagine part of the reason that IBM doesn't is that the Eclipse features
are providing their own text editor that is not "aware" of iSeries source
members and you could potentially causes yourself problems.
