Are you using a VPN to connect?
If so then you should be able to set up a connection in WDSC using the
IP address of the AS/400 you're connected to with the VPN.

At least that's how it worked from home when I had the VPN working.

And now if I dial up to one of our as/400s at work, I can use WDSC on
my PC at home to access source on either AS/400 using a connection I
have set up in WDSC on my home PC.

WDSC would have to be on the remote client. When you use Remote
Desktop, you're taking over that remote PC. But, you're probably
accessing the remote network on a VPN, right? You should be able to
access the iSeries directly from your PC using WDSC - no remote
desktop needed.

I use remote desktop from one building to another.
My usual machine has WDSC on it.
From the other building, one half day a week, I use remote desktop
to
work with the applications on my usual PC.
There is no problem for me using WDSC this way.

The only difficulty I have had is printing. Since I start at my
usual
desk in the morning, the printer may be assigned already.
I have to remember to pick the printer again at the other building
instead of just hitting a print button.

Does anyone know if it is possible to connect WDSC to an AS400 that
I
have
connected to with Remote Desktop ?
Thanks
Tom
