I think this gets hashed over pretty regularly. Other items to keep in mind are drive speed. For instance, on laptops there is a balance between better drive speed and length of battery life. If you aren't often away from a power source then go for the faster drive. If, however, you do a lot of coding at 30,000 feet on your day long flight to New Zealand, with an occasional break to watch a DVD on your laptop, you might be more inclined to go for the battery life.
