I got this one resolved on Friday. Sorry for the delayed update. The problem 
was caused for 2 reasons:

1) I had the option "Run compiles as batch jobs" checked in 
Preferences->iSeries Projects->Build and Compile.
2) In Preferences->Remote Systems->iSeries->Program Verifiers->ILE COBOL I 
did not have "Generate Listing" checked along with all of its sub-options.

When I corrected the issues described above, WDSC was able to populate the 
error list. Thanks for everyone's help!
