Losing Views

This is something that happens fairly regularly and does tend to get
annoying.  The outline view icon will disappear and I have to go to the
Window and view and select outline again.  Sometimes when I choose
outline it comes up with the "death" window and says no no no you can't
do that and I have to shut down RSE and then restart it.  The shutting
down part isn't bad but the startup is a groaner (about 4-5 minutes).  

Has this happened to anyone else?  I am at the latest and greatest
version.  In fact when I upgraded I lost my Softlandings plugin and my
Linoma Surveyor plugin and can't remember how I got them loaded in the
first place.
