Hi Bill,

Unfortunately clearing the cache is not always sufficient for WDSC to
remove cached information
(see APAR

This is what I recommend:
1. Do a verify with listing, and refresh cache:
Source->Verify (Prompt)...
Select all the listing options on the first page
Select Refresh Cache from the Cache page

2. Check the listings view (at the bottom-right pane) and ensure that
the
verifier is picking up the right library, file & fields.

3. Refresh your outline view.

Explanation:
The outline view for ILE RPG uses the information generated by a verify
to
populate itself. By default, cached information is used (actually the
same
options that are in your ILE RPG Verifier preferences from the
Windows->Preferences option are the ones used). If you modify your DDS,
you must either verify again with refresh cache, or via the RSE tree
view,
you can right-click on your *FILE object and select Cache File
Descriptions, then refresh the outline view.
We have a requirement to improve the usability of this process to allow
refresh cache to occur as part of the refresh of the outline view.

thanks,

Sorry about the below.
I thought there was an APAR for this problem, but it is a high priority
requirement instead.

Currently the clear cache button, only clears the disk cache and not the
"in memory cache". Thus in order to truly clear the cache, you must
also
restart the workbench after pressing the button, in order to completely
clear all cached information.

Thanks I tried the top suggestion and it worked. I certainly never
would have figured that one out on my own. The second suggestion was
done yesterday and it didn't work. If I am reading this right there is
a fix in the works to make this better, is that right?
