Since I was able to complete a couple of searches now, I went back through the log and saw that whenever I started a new search the old member was removed. So much for having to delete the member. I just had a thought that when I looked at the file EVFEVENT in QGPL it had 1 member. I think that this member was not removed when it should have been and if the definition for the file was 1 member, my searches would not be able to add another member. I think the compile EVFEVENT file is in a different library and is working fine. This is just my opinion and not sure if my facts are exact but as long as my searches are working I'm happy. I prefer this to FNDSTRPDM on the green screen. Thanks again to all the replies, I've learned my fact for the day and can go home now. ****************************************** Don Wereschuk ISD - Programmer/Analyst Simcoe Parts Service Inc. On your create commands (some of them) there is an option to specify *EVTF or *NOEVTF. I think contents of this file are replaced by subsequent 'actions', since the compile errors returned to WDSC are specific to the latest compile. -----Original Message----- From: wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Turnidge, Dave Sent: Tuesday, November 14, 2006 10:12 AM To: Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] iSeries Find String Change to *NOMAX?? Is there any problem just deleting the file? How often does this happen? From the description given below, this file could grow....?? I've seen this file many times and didn't have a clue as to what its purpose was. Just another reason I like lurking behind the scenes reading all this excellent information. Um, well, a lot of it is excellent information.... :-) -----Original Message----- From: wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Don Wereschuk Sent: Tuesday, November 14, 2006 9:05 AM To: Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] iSeries Find String Thanks Violaine. I did a CHGPF on the events file in QGPL that fixed the problem. I'll know what to do next time this happens ( I guess by using *NOMAX I shouldn't run into this problem again anyways -lol) thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. ****************************************** Don Wereschuk ISD - Programmer/Analyst Simcoe Parts Service Inc. This is usually accomplished by specifying *EVENTF as part of the command string. The resulting events file is placed, in the case of FNDSTRPDM, in *CURLIB/EVFEVENT *FILE in a member . The contents are then downloaded into the Find String results view. In your case it would seem that you have hit the maximum allowed members for the file *CURLIB/EVFEVENT You have 2 alternatives: 1. Delete the file (it will be automatically recreated) 2. Change the file properties to allow more members. For example: CHGPF FILE(*CURLIB/EVFEVENT) MAXMBRS(*NOMAX) Hope that helps. Hi All: I am having a real problem trying to use the search function. Help says that it works like FNDSTRPDM but I can't get it to work at all. I have used both ways; from the main menu : Search, iSeries and using a right click on the object in Remote Systems Explorer and Find String. I enter the string (e.g. 'XXXXSSSS' ) and then search and no mater what I search for or how many objects I search I keep getting the same error message : RSE01002E Members for file EVFEVENT more than maximum allowed Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or maybe a setting I should look at. I have looked at Preferences> Workbench> Search but any changes there makes no difference.
