Each instance will most likely use it's own chunk of memory since each instance starts its own JVM. Keep in mind Windows 2003 Standard Edition only supports up to 4gb of memory. Another option is to set up a shared Windows XP box. Google the web for XP Unlimited which let's you use XP pro as a multi-user system. Cool stuff and less expensive.
