Mark, If you know which field of the DS variable you want to look at, you can also add that field to the Monitors view and change its representation to hex. To see the hex of each field, you can use Memory view. Right click on variable->Monitor Memory->Hex. You can also add EBCDIC rendering view so it is easier to tell where the boundary of each field is. Is it because it's based or part of a DS? This option should be available. Has anyone else seen this behavior? -mark
