Larry, We were able go get up and running with RSE/WDSC without any formal training, but it was a bit of a slog. Try going through the tutorials that are included. From the Help menu, select the Tutorials Gallery, then the Do and Learn part of the tree. We found the 'Maintain an ILE RPG application' tutorial helpful. Getting the connection configured was a bit of a struggle, because of firewall/VPN issues. But all the pain is worth it! Larry, There are a couple of WDSc courses that I know of: AS86CE (2-days) is offered Nov. 2. LNDS03CE (1-day) is offered Dec. 4. The WebFacing course is AS85CE (2-days) on Nov. 27. These are all scheduled for Markham, Ontario so you'd have to come up here. If you have enough people, IBM will send someone to you and you could do them all in 1 week. Glenn Gundermann
IBM touts WDSc as the best thing to hit the development scene since sliced bread. But just try to find a little bit of "How To" information to get started after you load and install the package! I need a topographical map. What virtual servers do I need, where do they need to be created? On the PC, on the i5, and what is used to create them? The only training course I can find is not yet scheduled. All roads lead to this course, so to speak, since every link I seen goes to the IBM page describing the course in great detail, but it isn't scheduled. So can someone simply give out a list of servers, real and/or virtual, needed to run WDSc and Web Facing functions? Thanks! Larry L.
