Because of our firewall I have downloaded the WDSC RSE extensions and
run
it. Now I have to install it from the local disk. When you do this install where does it put these extensions and what are their names. I can't find them and it does not give you a chance to change them. Could
some one tell me the correct procedure for installing when I have downloaded the RSE extensions.
The RSE Extensions always should be initially installed via the .exe installer. Be default this installs into: [Program Files]\SoftLanding\RSE Extensions And it then adds a .link file in WDSC that tells WDSC about the plugins. The installer had a screen that showed you this and allowed the location to be changed. See: http://support.softlanding.com/opensource/site/install.html As the documentation on that page states, if you already have the RSE Extensions installed, then the installer skips most of the screens since it is just updating the existing installation. If you are not seeing the extensions, you are most likely suffering from the all to common problem where you have to cleanup the WDSC install. To do this, navigate to [Program Files]\IBM\Rational\SDP\6.0\eclipse\configuration And delete the two folders: org.eclipse.osgi org.eclipse.update When you restart WDSC (it will take a little longer) it will recreate those files and fix your installation.
