I've found that whenever I do an update of this type, it corrupts my installation, just like you are saying, so I've avoided doing updates of this type. Is there any way to perform updates of this type without causing problems? Could I have uninstalled the RSE extension and then installed the new version?
I think it will happen with anything that updates the installed plugins, whether it happens from within WDSC, an installer, or using that Rational Updater. The workaround is simple for now, hopefully IBM will figure out the cause and fix it. Mark
