I'm unsure whether this is working as designed since I cannot find any
discussion of this.
RSE doesn't allow me to save a source member to a folder with the read-only
attribute set. In this case, "My Documents" for e-mailing to IBM, etc. I
can, however, save the source member to a folder within "My Documents" that
does not have the read-only attribute set. Note that the read-only
attribute for folders is mostly ignored by Windows for folders unlike
files. It is mainly set for customized settings of folders like special
icons for "My Documents", "Favorites", "Start Menu", etc. See the
Microsoft help for more info. The help mentions that if programs have
trouble saving to My Documents, change the read-only attribute to the
System attribute with "attrib". Windows may not be able to change the
attribute and I don't think you would want to because it means it was
customized and you would lose the customizations.
Does anyone know if RSE was meant to check the read-only attribute of a
folder? I'm okay with it if it is working as designed.
