I use projects a lot...but I'm also working on specific projects, not
daily maintenance. If I'm maintaining existing code I user RSE.

Thanks,

Subject: [WDSCI-L] iSeries Projects

 Hi all!

I've been having a discussion with my boss about iSeries projects ...
personally, I don't see much use in them, but he thinks they are worth
looking into. He has this idea that we could download our code and take
it
home (or on vacation, yeah right), and continue to work. It should be
said
that he hasn't done serious development in quite a while.

I'm curious if anyone else is actually using them or not.

My personal development style is edit, compile, edit, compile, debug,
edit,
compile, debug (which I think is fairly typical) ... and off-line
development model really doesn't lend itself to that pattern.

I understand there is a verification mode for the source ... but if
something changes on the host, you could do a lot of editing and
modification for nothing, because you're development environment was not
aware of the changes.

TIA!

Marc
