Mike,

I believe there should be job ended abnormally message somewhere later in
the 'Command Log' view. However, I believe you are correct there is
nothing specifically telling you there is an authority problem. A failure
to replace an object being complied is only noted in the job log.

Here's how I access it if you submit compiles to batch using SoftLanding's
RSE extensions:

1) In the preferences under 'Remote Systems', 'iSeries', and
    'Command Execution', I have
'Add batch compiles to the iSeries Job Status view' checked.
2) Open the 'iSeries Job Status' view.
3) Right-click on the last compile.
4) Select 'Spooled files'.
5) From there, double-clicking on the job log opens it for review.

If you don't submit to batch, you can use the standard RSE tree-view to
find the appropriate server job and display the job log from there.

It would be nice to get something in the 'iSeries Error List' view or the
'Command Log', but I think that would take a change to the compiler -- as
I understand, that's out of the WDSC group's control.

Violaine,

Here is what I got for a message

SBMJOB CMD(CRTBNDCL PGM(FCDTSTSRC/J5506222) SRCFILE(FCDTSTSRC/JDESRC)
SRCMBR(J5506222) REPLACE(*YES) OPTION(*EVENTF) DBGVIEW(*SOURCE))
JOBD(*USRPRF)
Job 396210/MIKER/QDFTJOBD submitted to job queue QBATCH in library QGPL.

I tried the same thing with an RPG and did get a QRG0011 "Program not
replaced..." in the error list

The only other thing was that this program was originally a CLP which I
just had changed to a CLLE

Mike,

All results of compile/creation commands should be displayed in the
Command Log View.
Do you not see the authority failed message there?

thanks,

I have noticed that it appears that you are not alerted via WDSC when
compiling a source that the object is not created as the result of
authority issues.
Is there a setting that can be changed to allow this or is this a
feature request.
