Now I know I risk getting put in an asylum for this, but we have a
bizarre problem.

With new PCs we install 6.0.1 from a DVD. We then try to go online for
the updates, and as soon as the Rational Product Updater attempts to go
online we immediately get disconnected from the network completely. No
access to the network or the internet at all. You would get the same
effect if you unplugged the Ethernet cable from your PC.

The Rational Product Updater then times out. You press "Cancel", and
bingo - all your network and internet connectivity springs back to life.

It only happens with Rational Product Updater - nothing else. There are
no firewall issues that we can see from the logs. In fact, we have tried
turning the firewall off completely and it makes no difference.

Has anyone else experienced this ?
