All,

I configure a local mirror for WDSC updates per the excellent
instructions Mark Phippard posted here.

On Friday, I tried to install all the updates in one shot, but that
seemed to get stuck somewhere with an "Initializing..." dialog box on
screen that seemed to be going nowhere.

After aborting the attempt, we decided to give it another shot today.
This time, the only update selected to install was the 6.0.1.1 update
for IBM Relation Web Developer.

However, the installation seems stuck with a progress bar dialog box
titled "Initializing..." on the screen. Looking at the Windows task
manager, javaw.exe seems to be slowly increase in memory usage, but
taking little or no CPU; mostly staying at 0% but once and a while
taking 1-2% for a split second. The progress bar has had 22 blocks on
it for some time.

I don't remember the update working like this from IBM web site. Can
anyone tell me if this is normal/abnormal behavior?

Is it possible that the JVM version on the PC is a problem? I don't
believe a recent JVM from Sun has been loaded to the PC, but I was under
the impression that WDSC installed and used its own particular version.

Thanks,

Charles Wilt
