Thank you very much Violaine for your response. I'm on IBM Rational Web
Developer version 6.0.1.1 and IBM WebSphere Development Client for iSeries
version 6.0.1.

I'll go ahead and check for updates.

So, my original problem was due simply to the Cache then?

Thanks.

John.

Hi John,

1. You don't mention what version you are running, but I recommend getting
the latest service - iFix 1, 6.0.1.1 of RSE There is a specific fix in
there for a verify/outline view hang

2. When verifying or refreshing the outline view for RPG (which does a
verify), the value in
Window > Preferences > Remote Systems > > iSeries > Program Verifiers
For refresh cache indicates whether or not the cached information should be
used for the function. This can be overridden during a verify by
selecting Verify with prompt, and then selecting the Refresh cache option..

3. The connection specified in the Program Verifiers page is used for local
files, not for iSeries projects members or remote members. It should have
no effect on which connection is used for verify for your project members..

Hope this helps!
