#1. Go to softlanding.com and download their iSeries editing tool. It's an excellent perspective for working in. #2. Once installed go to Window -> Open Perspective -> Other -> iSeries Editing #3. Once in that view, you can create filters (ie subsets of source members by library, source files, member names) #4. Then just double click on your source member to edit it. Remember, it's not PDM. It's more like your typical windows editors. Some stuff is different. Take the time to play with it. In about 2-3 weeks you'll get the hang of it. HI I just installed 6.0 today. I have not really used any prev. versions. I want first of all, to do something cool. What are some typical benefits you have over the old PDM? More importantly, I have a task that I would do at this time, but is there a way to do this so as to make the tool really shine. I have to learn a certain process. It involves basically, a few CL's, RPG's, files, an old fashioned type of app. I thought to put everything that happens into some type of chart of flowchart but initially want to have a list of the CL, what it calls, what happens in the CL, etc... How if in any way, is this tool going to make this task easie/better? I am also interested in purchasing any books that would help me. I have no idea which book is best for this. Is a Version 4 book on sale, worth getting? Thank you very much, Steve Amsel
