I've done a couple installs here, and it does get real quiet during that
"applying updates" part (CD stops spinning, but I think the HD light was
still blinking), but it does eventually move on. I think that
horizontal candy cane kept spinning, though, so if yours stopped, maybe
it really did lock up.

I would recommend uninstalling as much as you can of what's there, then
do the installation again and find something else to do for a while
during the install. IBM had a batch utility for registry cleanup after
botched 5.xx installs, but I don't know if they have one for v.6.

|Subject: [WDSCI-L] error on install of wdsc 6.0
|
|I was installing WDSC on my colleagues "buggy" machine. It was in the
|applying updates phase of the installation. His machine locked up. We
|had to reboot. I'm in no mood to reinstall this again but when we try
to
|run WDSC it says it can't find the license for some features, some
|features may be disabled. And you can't use anything. Any ideas on
how I
|can fix this without doing a full install again? If I try to run the
|install, will it ask me to repair the existing?
