installing v6.0

Can I install version 6.0 of WDSC before we go to V5RM3?  We are at V5RM2 
now, and will be upgrading over Christmas.  Can I get a headstart and 
install this software on my PC?  Also, is there anything I need to do such 
as remove the old version first, or just do a regular install?  And man 
there are a lot of discs...  can I just use the DVD?
