Anita. I haven't even created a Web Service. I was working on a tutorial via IBM Developerworks entitled 'Build a web service Client using JSF and SDO' I was just following the steps which indicated creating a new JSF page and then selecting 'Create a new webservice'. Once you select that, You select from in the 'Web Service Directory Home' a list of available registries by choosing the 'Web Services from a UDDI Registry' and put in a search string(in this case 'Currency') Its at this point that I receive the errors. Does your Web Service work without using the UDDI? Have you tried to test it just using the Web Service Explorer? However, I noticed that when I went to my Softlanding Turnover Plugin and tried to open a worklist, I ended up with the same error(malformed socket). So I went back to my preferences and removed the proxy information under(Internet) and retried the Turnover worklist. This corrected the problem with Turnover. I then retried the web service and received the following. 'Unsupported response content type quot;text/htmlquot; must be quot;text/xmlquot; Response was It;!DocTYPE HTML PUBLIC quot;-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//Enquot;gt; It;HTML dir=ltrgt;lt;HEADgt;lt;TITLEgt;the page cannot be displayed;/TITLEgt; It;STYLEgt;A:link{ Etc Don't know if this sheds anymore light on the problem or not. As a result, i registered my test web service with IBMs registry. I just received an email from them earlier this week saying that they are taking down their registry. Perhaps this is why you cannot open your socket? Just a thought. "Smith, Mike" <Mike_Smith@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: I'm trying to go through a web services tutorial and I'm having a bit of a problem. If so, please let me know your environment and if you're having any problems? Maybe hang threads (we're having this, I'm shure it's related to the Webfacing server) We have three instances on a private pool of 3 GB, 2 with Webfacing apps and one J2EE. Please let me know how many time do you have Webfacing server up on the iSeries? Thanks for any help. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! My first reaction is that your pool is not big enough to run 3 websphere instances. I would check your heap sizes. cheers Colin.W On 19/12/05, Christian Lugo <kristpy@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > Hello, > > It's there anyone using WebSphere on iSeries with > Webfacing? > > If so, please let me know your environment and if > you're having any problems? I use JAVAGCINFO on the SST, and I got all my instances using below 530 MB, only one of them is limited to 524 MB for the Java heap. The instance were I get the errors on SystemOut.log about threads hangin' uses 414 MB, all of them are running since 2/12/2005, version 6 by the way. Please let me know what's your current situation regarding the Webfacing server everyone.
