I would strongly suggest that you forget about the WDSC/RSE compare
functions.  There are actually two of them, and the best that can be said
about them is that they are totally useless.

Do yourself a favor and use a right click open and select to open the
sources using the CODE editor.  Then use the compare function in CODE.  It
is far superior in every way, side-by-side views, color coded, and one or
both of the views can be edited to allow cut/paste between the versions. 
If
you only want to copy in one direction take the option to protect the
version that needs to be preserved.
