Can we do the same if we already installed 6.0 and want to remove the 5.1.2 version now that we are satisfied it is working OK? The earlier thread ([WDSCI-L] RE: 5.1.2.5 vs 6.0 co-existence and 5.2.1.5 removal) just kind of headed off topic after the suggestion to uninstall 5.1.2 first.

I retained 5.1.2 just in case 6.0 was a mess (and it isn't!).

How ugly does all this get if we also have WEME (Websphere Everyplace Micro Environment) installed along with the Device Developer? Man, they really meant "Websphere Everywhere" when you install their tools!....

Thanks,

Pete Helgren

Rob,

The following is from an e-mail I received from IBM. It has served me well
when I have had to remove WDSc since then. Some of the registry entries and
folders may already be removed.

1. Remove for the Windows registry:
       - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\ADTS Client Server for AS/400\Install
       - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\IBM Distributed Debugger
       - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\WebSphere Studio\2.1
       - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\WebSphere Studio\Rational
       -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\631a5ad8d2f1a8463d882348eeee9f17
(Key for WDSc Adv Ed v5.1.2)
       -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\51a03a8a2cdc08bec95e0eaf9a351acf
 (Key for WDSc v5.1.2)

2. From %SystemRoot%
       - Delete the VPD.properties file
       - Delete the IBMVAHLP.cfg file

3. Delete these folders
       - C:\WDSC
       - C:\IBMDEBUG
       - C:\Program Files\IBM\KCL
       - C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\Application Developer\V5.1.2
               or
         C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\Site Developer\V5.1.2

Subject: [WDSCI-L] How to uninstall WDSC

The faq used to have a link "How do I uninstall WDSC?" at
http://faq.midrange.com/data/cache/451.html
It pointed to:
http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.nsf/3cdf5d853ca698198625680b00020369/d1995639e4e1919186256dfd006b3931?OpenDocument

However IBM blasted that document. When I search for uninstall WDSC I get
old documents referring to WDT.

What are the steps to uninstall WDSC? I assume using add/remove programs
is a big part of it. But I suspect registry settings, etc get left laying
around.

Going from WDSC 5.1.2 to WDSC 6 on XP.
