RE: WDSCI and NAT -- WDSCI-L




Hi all,

Several month ago, i had a similar problÃme with the Websphere Admin Console 
v4.0. To by pass the problem, I have done the followin thing:


Original configuration:


PC                                                                              
                                                                       AS400
Admin Console                              =>                 NAT               
                  =>                          Websphere
IP Source: 10.0.0.100             (translation: 10.1.0.55 to 128.1.0.55)        
                          IP: 128.1.0.55
IP Dest: 10.1.0.55


Configuration that works


PC                                                    =>                    
NAT1(IP:10.0.0.2)                   =>                            NAT2          
                                   =>                       AS400
Admin Console                           (Translation: 128.1.0.55 to 10.1.0.55)  
                (Translation: 10.1.0.55 to 128.1.0.55)                          
Websphere
IP Source: 10.0.0.100                                                           
                                                                                
                                                            IP: 128.1.0.55
IP Dest: 128.1.0.55
Default Route: 10.0.0.2

This configurtion works fine becouse th PC runs like if it was on the same 
network as the AS400.


I thought that this principle could be apply in the case of the WDSC debugger 
but there's something else because i always have the same message (even if i 
don't see anything wrong when i watch IP packets with a sniffer):

  EXPLORER FOR A DIFFERENT HOSTNAME.  THE STRRSESVR COMMAND MUST BE RUN FROM
  THE HOST FOR WHICH THE CONNECTION IS DEFINED.

any idea ?
