Violaine,

My apologies for not quite being clear in my explanation of my problem.

Example:
If I position the cursor on the RTVOBJD command in a CL and hit F1, when the
help browser pops up I'll see the RTVOBJD html file for a split second (as far
as I can tell it looks like the result of the GENCMDDOC command, but like I say
it's only there for a split second) and then I'm at the 'Welcome to the
WebSphere Studio Information center' screen. If it would stop in that split
second flash I'm pretty sure I'd have what I wanted.

Another interesting quirk:
If I prompt (F4) the RTVOBJD command, LPEX obligingly pops up the whole list of
available fields with input fields for my CL variables. The problem is that if
the RTVOBJD command returns a 2 byte field, that's all I can type into the
prompt for a CL name. For example, for the OBJDMN field all I can type in is
&A, 2 characters. I have not yet tried this with other commands that return info
into variables.

Thanks again,

Robin
