I have run into many cases where the errors that prevent a compile are not
in the compile listing, just the joblog. ILE binding errors come to mind
as a prime example. If you are running your compiles "interactively" in
WDSC then access to that joblog is difficult, although not impossible,

1) I haven't tried this, but I think it would work. Go to the iSeries
Commands window and run the command DSPJOBLOG *PRINT as a "Normal"
command. This should produce a spooled file of your server job's log
which you can then view.

2) In the Jobs section of RSE there is a "My Active Jobs" filter that
will show you your server job. You can then right click and do "Display
Job Log" to see it in the iSeries Job Log view. This is what I normally
do, but now that I think of it, option #1 seems easier since you can use
search to search the spooled file easier than you can use that view.
