CL Prompter stops after a while

I have set up preferences for the CL prompter to put parameters on their
own separate line.  After several lines the prompter stops doing this,
just leaves the CL commands as typed.  Has anyone else seen this?  (I
received an email from a colleague that experienced the same thing, so I
know that it isn't just me.)

I am currently using version 5.1.2.4, build ID 20050104_2139.
