Hi Michael,

The reasons you see different updates at the 2 locations is because of the
way WDSc is packaged. WDSc actually includes WSSD so when you apply
updates to WDSc you need to apply updates for WSSD plus updates for the
iSeries functions (which are not included in WSSD.)

The preferred way to apply updates is via update manager (Help > Software
Updates > New Updates). This will only show you updates that are
applicable to the version you have installed (this depends on the version
and whether you have standard vs advanced installed.)

If you can't use update manager (because you don't have an Internet
connection from the PC where WDSc is installed) then use the following
link:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/wdt400/support/

We post all applicable updates for WDSc here (including the updates for
WSSD.)

Hope this helps clarify things a bit.

Subject
[WDSCI-L] Manual download of updates

Perhaps someone (Don please feel free to respond !-) ) can clarify this
for me. If I go to the location

ftp://www3.software.ibm.com/software/websphere/studiotools/zips/512/

I sometimes don't see the same updates available if I go to:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/wdt400/support/

and select the 'All Updates (Fixes, patches, etc.)' link.

Where should I look for updates, when should I check the alternate
location, are there other locations I haven't found yet?

Thanks,
Michael Quigley
